An update from the founder and a farewell

So…. I have news which might explain my radio silence on here.

I have longed to bring anti-racism work to as many people as possible and now, finally that dream is being realised. Today, I am delighted to be able to formally announce (the wait has been painful lol!) my debut book; The Good Ally will be published in Autumn 2021 by the incredible HQ Stories, Harper Collins in Autumn 2021

The Good Ally will be the answer to all those cool cats like you who have started to really engage with their own privilege and prejudice and isms, and are asking ‘what next?’ Drawing on my experience in mental well-being, consulting and running a anti-racism course that is changing hearts and minds – with an intentional Black British bias, it will provide a clear breakdown of the issues, will help those wanting to become better allies; and in turn, human beings, those who are hungry to expand their knowledge and understanding of systemic racism, and those who not only want to be able to better recognise both subtle and overt forms of racism in action, but who want to know what to do about it.

I couldn’t be more delighted for my debut to be published by HQ, an imprint that champions bold and brave books. In the 18 months since I started writing this book, the world has shifted, it has gone through profound change. We are in the middle of what will be an important chapter in the history books and we all have a role to play in how this story ends. Anti-racism work has never felt more urgent and I’m looking forward to being able to bring this work to more people who are waking up.

I have felt called to serve something bigger than me & as this new chapter begins, it means with heavy heart, my chapter with Nu Bride has to come an end, so I can better serve & hope, as a byproduct to see that change ripple down to the wedding industry.

It would be a shame to see this resource and inspiration go, so Nu Bride is available for acquisition at a very important time for the right progressive buyer that cares about diversity – if we don’t find the right buyer, it won’t be sold. So for the time being this website, Pinterest and Instagram will remain as a static resource of inspiration for you, which means contact methods and comments will no longer be available,  links and content will no longer be updated so please be vigilant and do your due diligence when searching for suppliers or up to date guidance.

. A thank you to you for reading and sharing and recommending and to every beautiful couple for choosing to share their love story with Nu Bride.

Thank you to every single supplier, photographer and sponsor who has supported Nu Bride and cared about driving through change in this industry, I am passing on the baton to you now.  There are so many of you I want to thank and don’t get to mention in the video – doesn’t mean you aren’t valued just that no-one what’s to hear 20 minutes of thank you’s, lol . You know who you are. But I can’t say goodbye to this chapter of Nu Bride without also thanking such incredible supporters and human beings like @johnnassari @alakija@carlabancphotography @verityquirk@ananyacards @makeupana  @Charlie_brear  Ian Stuart and thank you to these couples who’ve now become friends and @thelovebrunchbymonai and an extra special thank you “team” Nu Bride for helping me go out with a bang with Nu Bride The Wedding Show in 2019.

8 years. Wow. From my own wedding day to being invited to attend the Royal wedding of Harry and Meghan as a guest expert, it’s not always been easy campaigning and being a champion for anti-racism and diversity in such a homogenous industry but it has most definitely been quite a ride. I cannot say goodbye without honouring one more person who’s played a huge role in this journey. My rock and number one fan Mr Nu Bride.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Eternal love and gratitude. Follow or @novareidofficial for my anti racism mischief.

Over and out xxxx
