Intimate Garden Wedding Shoot | Lily and Lavender Events | Alison Wonderland Photography

Something wicked this way comes. Delighted to bring this beautiful bit of inspiration to you today  especially if you are planning a spring wedding and yearning for the change of season like me.

Put together by effortlessly talented Carol founder of Lily and Lavender Events who loves nothing more than to plan intimate and meaningful events for couples who want to create memories and share precious moments  with the people in their life who matter.

Captured by Alison Wonderland Photography enjoy this spring inspired garden shoot if you’re planning a smaller celebration.

Over to Carol for the low down!

Imagine a light breeze, the soft sunshine of spring and a secluded garden that’s overflowing with wildflowers and blossom – the perfect setting for our ‘Spring Romance’ editorial.

I wanted this shoot to have an intimate vibe about it and this private garden promised the dreamiest backdrop – a fabulous dose of inspiration if you’re considering a smaller, micro-wedding without wanting to compromise on style. As a Luxury Events Planner working in Sussex and beyond, I am fortunate to have a wonderful network of wedding suppliers at my fingertips and the team behind the shoot were all magical in their own ways.

A self-confessed chaser of natural light, we just knew Alison from Alison Wonderland Photography was the professional made to capture the essence of our intimate garden editorial. Her work is effortlessly romantic, and you can almost feel the warm sunshine on your face and hear the birds singing away as you look through the images.

We worked the shoot around our gorgeous model – Nyaradzo has such a natural beauty and we couldn’t wait to get her in the jewelled gorgeous wedding dress, which came from the magical Couture & Tiaras Bridal Boutique. Our ultra-talented make-up artist, Hazel, from Hazel’s Bridal Beauty, accentuated and enhanced Nyaradzo’s features. The bridal look was soft, dewy and fresh – a wonderful match for a Spring wedding, don’t you think?

Our jeweller, Ruth, of Ruth Mary Jewellery, uses hand-stitch lace to carefully craft jewellery and her work is just exquisite. Accessories were kept simple and the model’s hair was kept natural and romantic (achieved by doing a simple twist out), while the dress just blew us away. Bejewelled with embellishments and a flowing tulle skirt, it had a modern fairy tale feel about it that beautifully complemented our garden setting.

As a Spring-inspired shoot, florals had to feature and in a big way! We opted for a colour palette of blush pink hues, off-white blooms and plenty of foliage – country garden-esque with a hint of luxury. The centrepieces were overflowing with flowers that looked as if they had just been handpicked from the garden. We then used a single bloom to add a fabulous finishing touch to the place settings – sometimes less really is more. The same pink blooms adorned the wedding cake created by Val of The Soverign Cake Studio – this masterpiece was just too pretty to eat. As a one-tier design, we wanted to show that you don’t have to have a five-tier cake adorned with icing and details to have impact.

Natalie from Flamboyant Invites was the talent behind the stationery and oh, how we adored the design! It was as delicate and romantic as our garden backdrop, and instantly set the scene for what was to come. Our aim to was to demonstrate how stationery can tie in with your wedding style – guests love nothing more than having a clue about what’s around the corner. Your invitations and on-the-day stationery really do help to bring your vision to life – from the envelopes to wording.

Have we got you dreaming about a romantic Spring celebration? We hope so…
