I can’t tell you how excited I am to be working with this incredible organisation. Meet Brides do Good a social enterprise with a desire to empower and educate young girls and women and help end child marriage.
Our shared desire for equality and inclusion and socially conscious celebrations are a match made in heaven for Nu Bride The Wedding Show.
As partners, Brides Do Good will have their own pop-up store at Nu Bride The Wedding Show and are taking pre-booked appointments and walk-ins on both the 5th and 6th April and will be showcasing some of their stunning dresses on our catwalk. They will also be leading a panel discussion on Saturday the 6th April on planning a sustainable wedding and I can’t for you to meet them, they will have you at hello, much like their founder Chantal and her commitment to equality did when I first met her in 2016. About Brides Do Good
Brides do Good is a movement that connects women and girls across the world by harnessing the power of the bridal industry. Their mission is to end child marriage by offering brides-to-be the chance to buy a dream dress at an affordable price – dresses donated by ethical designers and socially conscious brides. They personally curate a selection of high-quality, luxury designer gowns, and use up to two-thirds of the proceeds to fund charity projects supporting and empowering vulnerable young girls and their communities. With brands like Elie Saab, Sassi Holford, Pronovias, Rosa Clara and Vera Wang available in sizes from 4 – 30 at up to 70% off, brides can afford to buy the dress of their dreams and help us make the dreams of other young girls come true. It’s rather bloody incredible.
What does diversity mean to you?
The foundation of our business is the idea that by connecting women we can protect girls around the world and ensure they are afforded the choices that many of us are lucky enough to have. We are champions of the power of women and their right to live a life full of opportunity – no matter where they are born, what colour their skin or what shape they are. Historically, the bridal industry has been one of limited exclusivity, inaccessible to many for a whole host of reasons. Brides do Good aims to mobilise the wedding industry for good, enabling brides-to-be to make meaningful choices about their big day, and in turn empower other girls around the world.
I want to be part of Nu Bride The Wedding Show because…
Brides do Good and Nu Bride have been close friends since we began our journey and so it was a natural decision to take part in the inaugural show. Our brands share the notion of inclusivity at the heart of what we do, and with a focus on creating sustainable and ethical wedding solutions, we absolutely had to be here!
When planning your wedding don’t forget to have fun. The day is about you. The flowers, the dress, and suits, the food – it should reflect your vision as a couple, don’t worry too much about what others think, and don’t be afraid to make it mean something to you. Whether it’s doing good with your dress, or introducing the entire guest list to a vegan menu!
