What comes to mind when you hear the word tradition? Boring? Uncreative? Obligatory? It doesn’t have to be any of that. When planning a wedding, […]
Inspired by the beauty of nature, this luxury and indulgent shoot and blending nature with modern luxury and it’s delicious.
With the backdrop of the rather stunning Kentfield Estate , a private venue nestled in the heart of Kent, this shoot was put together by the talented wedding planner Sharn of Desi Bride Dreams and featuring Nu Bride Family members Ananya Cards on stylish stationery and Amanda Karen Photography who captured these beautiful images .
With a clever colour palette rooted in nature featuring rich emerald-green and gold, you are in for a sensuous treat!
The Inspiration Behind the Shoot
Luxurious yet natural, opulent yet fresh – this shoot at the stunning Kentfield Estate has it all.
The wonder of the outdoors and the beauty of nature with ancient, native woodlands and a dreamy lake providing the fabulous backdrop influenced the look and feel of the shoot. The team was inspired to create something that avoided the typical ‘rustic’ look and instead was sensuous, rich and incredibly indulgent.
To bring the look to life, quality was most definitely the key. Trays edged in gold held the most delectable selection of canapés, coupe glasses were filled with champagne, jewelled macarons, lush florals, heavyweight stationery with flowing script, an iconic Aston Martin and THAT cake all fitted perfectly with the natural-luxe style.
Our bride wore a show-stopping, full-skirted gown and vivid Aruna Seth shoes with exquisite embellishments. Her look was utterly elegant with perfectly groomed hair, classic drop earrings and a statement red lip.
Greens played the starring role in our colour palette. These tones were perfect for representing both luxury and organic beauty. The white and gold accents were the perfect foil for the greens bringing both opulence and purity into the colour palette.
Kentfield was the most fitting location for the shoot. This private estate sits on the edge of the North Downs and is alive with pasture, wildflower meadows and native woodlands. The 4-acre lake is such a fantastic setting and the fact that the venue is also a working estate that farms in a sympathetic way, producing food of the finest quality also fitted the shoot brief to perfection.
The flowers for the shoot included the most luxurious seasonal blooms including peonies, anemones, roses and lilies plus plenty of bold greenery. Everything was opulent in the extreme with flowers cascading from bowls across tabletops and tumbling from tall glass candelabras that had been wrapped in ribbon to match the colour palette.
When it comes to standout elements, the amazing geode cake has to top the list. The rich emerald interior, edged with gold would make a wedding centrepiece that guests would never forget. The fringed cake with cameo overtones is just as special and would fit a more traditional wedding perfectly.
Any bride looking for styling tips will have lots to choose from with this shoot that proves just how chic country settings can be. The bold yet traditional stationery is the perfect starting point for the day and this is then continued with all those expected wedding elements being given an extra twist or flourish. Add a slick of gold to the top of a macaron, add another tier to a wedding cake, hire in luxurious chair or flatware to add another dimension to a bare table… The choice is yours!
Re-create the look
If you would like to recreate this look I would firstly look at what design elements you love and what to weave into your own wedding. Pinterest can be a great way to start as you want to get super clear on your vision and style. I would recommend pinning what you feel like aligns with your vision and then revisiting your board a few days later. Once you have created a concise board then I would look at suppliers who match your style and vision. Every supplier will have their own unique style so it’s important to select those that can deliver your brief for you”
