— Diversity Awards (@ndawards) February 27, 2018
I have been nominated for the work I have been doing to bring race equality and diversity into the wedding industry so couples of various backgrounds are seen as the norm and not tokenistic trends. With Meghan and Harry due to marry in just a matter of weeks, diversity is most definitely a hot topic in our industry right now and it seems this union has already started to impact the wedding industry. But diversity isn’t just a buzz word, it’s in our every day.
The National Diversity Awards take place annually and celebrate the hard work of not only big corporations but more-so normal everyday people, who are making strides within and outside of their communities to improve inequality in the UK, tackling the issues in today’s society, giving them recognition for their dedication and hard work. It prides itself as the awards show that creates new role models and I am proud to be in some great company.
If you love what I do, I would be touched if you would take the time to vote for Nu Bride. The going gets tough as an ethnic minority in this industry sometimes, calling out it’s imperfections doesn’t always make me popular and I would have thrown in the towel ages ago if it wasn’t for my awesome supporters so, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. I am still working at it for you so that many of you no longer feel invisible.
So if you are supporter of that I do, please vote for meeee!
