What comes to mind when you hear the word tradition? Boring? Uncreative? Obligatory? It doesn’t have to be any of that. When planning a wedding, […]
One of the things I love about Nu Bride, is discovering, getting to work with and introducing you to super talented brands and businesses who truly care about their clients, care about diversity, (authentically – not just as a tick box exercise) and consistently surpass expectations.
One, being fantastic Nu Bride Ambassador; and multi-award winning luxury planners Julie Perry Events, whom I had the pleasure of celebrating with at their annual Winter Fashion Lunch; in conjunction with Philip Armstrong, Harvey Nichols and Bohairmia, at trendy Artisan, Manchester last month.
Julie Perry Events (JPE) are synonymous for producing exceptional events for stylish clients that celebrate every milestone, from weddings and events, to private dining and celebrations of life. They have an eclectic client base and produce events from the most humble and intimate to the most vivacious and bold. I meet a lot of planners in this industry and to me, they are the friendliest, supportive, most humble team of women I have had the pleasure of meeting in this industry. Their client list of VIPs is hugely impressive, but what I love about it is, that you would never know, their discretion is MI5 level.
One of the things that personally had me at hello when I first met Julie, (the lady behind Julie Perry Events), is her humbleness. Understated, genuine and quite remarkable given the clientele and celebrity events she frequently hosts. She treats people equally, as human beings, irrespective of their status and its one of the reasons she is able to connect with and work with people from a variety of backgrounds.
Julie and her team put entertainment at the forefront of every one of their events. It makes sense given that Julie’s background is in Artist and Repertoire (A&R) Management. It was Julie’s love for music (trust me, she knows and appreciates her soul and New Jack Swing!) that led her to become an event planner and with artists like Emilie Sandé and Craig David at her fingertips, entertaining guests is at the core and she believes in nothing more than the importance of producing meaningful, entertainment-led events that celebrate life’s moments. And boy do the team at JPE know how to entertain!
Thank you Anderson Club for my dressing me and helping me look presentable!
For the first time last month, I got to experience some of Julie Perry Events magic at the 8th instalment of their eagerly anticipated annual Winter Fashion Ladies Lunch, celebrating the start of the Christmas season with some of their clients, which coincided with the launch of a project we have been working on and the unveiling of their chic new website.
I had the pleasure of the company of some incredibly elegant ladies and was, as expected, attentively hosted by Julie and her team and was treated to a delicious three course Christmas lunch accompanied by a supremely sultry catwalk show executed to precision, featuring some of the newest (and sexiest) cutting edge designs from sought after fashion designer label Philip Armstrong. Popular on the red carpet, designers Tony and Philip frequently dress A-listers including the likes of Nicole Scherzinger and Katie Perry and after seeing their feminine designs for confident women in the flesh, I can see why. The cut and attention to detail was phenomenal.
As if this wasn’t enough, our dessert was followed by epic live entertainment, featuring vocally slick renditions of current pop and ultimate soul classics, that even had this nervous soul on her dancing feet, in the middle of the afternoon, in a room full of women I had never met until that moment! Pure joy.
Our charming host for the day – the wonderful Armand
I spent some time working with the team, (who are based in Manchester and work in London, nationally and internationally) and purposefully watched how they interact with each-other on a day-to-day basis. It was with support, respect and some fun in there too. They work exceptionally hard and their success and camaraderie is an example of what happens when women, support other women. It’s a delight to see female business owners and colleagues, succeeding, excelling, nurturing and supporting each other. I truly believe the secret behind the success of being so well hosted as a client, is in how the service provider you choose treats and speaks to their team; from the interns, to the Director. It 100% filters through to you, the client. Pay attention.
Working with Julie Perry Events is an absolute pleasure and I am looking forward to creating some more magic with Julie and her team in the new year!
Thank you for having me and making me feel so welcome team JPE!
The lady behind the magic, Julie Perry who is rarely seen in-front of the camera – consider me lucky to even get this shot!
