Barbados is home to exotic locales, a rich history, and an extensive variety of sports and activities. With a spectacular landscape that changes dramatically from one town to the next, each locale possesses an equally sundry pace, offering activities and entertainment for nature lovers, club-goers, and adventurers alike.

From the underground caves and scenic vistas to the enchantment of swimming with the giant sea turtles and exploring the monkey-populated forests, Barbados is full of fascinating pursuits. Duty-free shopping and an age-old rum distillery also add to the charm of this lively island!

There is something for everyone in Barbados. It is thought to boast more attractions than any other Caribbean island. From exquisite dining, excellent shopping opportunities and a vibrant night life; to cricket, the famous local Friday Night Fish Fry; Oistins and an array of island and historical tours.

You could even have the opportunity to give back to the community with a trip to a local school on the Reading Road Trip, a unique opportunity to engage with Caribbean children and enhance their lives as part of our ‘Community Routes Program’.

Reading a story is just the beginning of this enlightening experience when you are paired with a small group of children, ages 3-10 years old, at their school. Your entertaining questions will keep the kids attentive while at the same time improving their listening and comprehension skills. As these youngsters complete their reading aptitude sheets, your one-on-one help will open a new chapter of renewed excitement about learning. You’ll take home memories of sharing something special from the heart and you can feel free to donate a favourite new or gently used book to the school’s library for the children to enjoy time and time again.

Home to both black and white sand beaches with water so clear that coral formations can be spotted from the air, Grenada’s volcanic origin has created a landscape of great beauty and variety, with rainforests, a 13–acre crater lake, cascading cliffs, and hot springs. Known as the “Island of Spice”, there are more spices in Grenada per square mile than any other place in the world, so it’s a great place for foodies to top up their spice rack.

Nutmeg is the country’s biggest export, producing one–third of the world’s supply. Used to season anything from meat and vegetables to cocktails and Grenada’s national dish, Oil Down, this super spice, is so revered that it even has a place on the country’s flag. Grenada is also renowned for its diving sites, with 15 shipwreck sites and the world’s first underwater sculpture park that illustrates the island’s colourful culture and folklore.

Such a beautiful location, we recently took a cruise there and the water really is that blue! Wish we could have taken our honeymoon here too especially through cricket season (avid fan here) as the locals love the sport.
