I had the pleasure of visiting White Gallery London last week during bridal fashion week in London, to get an exclusive snoop from some of the […]
Effortlessly elegant Ellis bridal bride; Elise and stylish Hugo Boss groom Paul, married on 14th August 2015 in an elegant wedding with a nice mix of formal and relaxed traditions . Elise and Paul chose to hold their beautiful ceremony at St. Giles Church in Ickenham, Middlesex, followed by a gorgeous reception in the Hertfordshire countryside at Micklefield Hall.
Over to the happy newlywed Elise who gave me the details of their beautiful day.
As a birthday present, Paul took me away to Mexico and on the second night we were there, had organised candle light path to private dinner on the beach!
There was a saxophonist on the beach and we had the most romantic meal!
Shortly after our main course Paul asked’; “would you like dessert or would you like to marry me!” (Nu Bride: Tough call lol! ) Then he got down on one sandy knee and I said YES!
Our wedding style was a mixture of tradition and relaxed party atmosphere to the entire day.
We got married in the local church and then we had our reception in a barn. We had a steel band which represented Paul’s family as his Dad is from the Caribbean. We also did certain traditional elements so welcomed each of our guests into the barn before dinner and had a long top table with our parents either side of us.
We chose Julie Michaelsen Photography to photograph our wedding and I cannot recommend Julie enough, she was an absolute pleasure to work with and took amazing pictures! We loved her work and from start to finish she was so helpful and supportive throughout the entire process.
The wedding was beautifully filmed by Special Occasion Video Productions. Martin was excellent, he was professional, friendly and we even forgot we were being filmed! The DVD end result we absolutely love!
I enjoyed every minute of the day, wish I could do it all again! Some points that stand out were actually walking down the aisle, I was so excited to see everyone and then I got emotional when I saw Paul as I was so overwhelmed with happiness.
The funniest moment of the day was when I said “dog” instead of “God”! (Nu Bride: Freudian slip! lol!)
The steel band were excellent as they played along whilst welcome drinks and canapés where served to friends and family once they had arrived at the reception venue.
I loved the speeches, each one was very special. Also we had a friend that did our DJ-ing for the evening and he played the best tunes so enjoyed that part of the night too!
Challenges and Triumphs
I planned the wedding myself!
One Tip for other couples
