This is modern, art inspired, monochrome themed styled shoot , was shot with a group of talented wedding suppliers in tow with the stylish The Brice Hotel in Savannah US as their backdrop .
Put together by US photographer and former Londoner Keli Brown. Keli was inspired by painter Cy Twomblys’ work and wanted to create a shoot for modern couples and purposefully chose to use a delightful real couple, Taryn and Patrick to tell the story. White clean lines and beautiful simplicity. You cannot go wrong with the timeless elegance of a black and white palette.
The inspiration for this shoot really came from a series of black and white paintings by Cy Twombly. The modern and art filled Brice Hotel served as the perfect back drop for all of this! The jewellery was custom created for the shoot and the pieces were their own works of art. The (amazing!) cake was a show stopper and fit seamlessly in with the ideas. What really brought the entire shoot together was the couple, Taryn + Patrick, who are a couple in real life and whose love was palpable in the photos. Every contributor really worked to make the vision come to life.
Re-Create the Look
Choosing a few pieces of art as inspiration is a great place to start and a good starting point for yourself or the people you are working with to help create the entire vision.
No matter what the budget a great place to begin is with the venue.
Once you have a place that you love, you can use the space itself as a way to flesh out your ideas. From colour, to style, to theme.
Also, look to hire people who you really respect as artists to help bring your vision to life. Allowing them to bring their own perspective to your vision is where the real magic happens! If you are a serious DIY’er this look can be recreated really simply by getting a few pieces of art or inspiration ideas and working from there. For example, using the paintings black + white concept, and thinking with a unique perspective will lead to great results. Practically speaking, for that modern feel, look for clean lines and cut in your attire too. This can be achieved at many different price points and really brings everything together.
