I’ve been scouring the net to discover some of the most loved wedding hairstyles and asked some of my industry chums to share some of their favourite hairstyles this year that can easily be re-created across most hair types .
These are simply gorgeous. Starting off with this exquisite creation by the Easton Regal team that so elegantly demonstrate that by incorporating jewellery and delicate accessories into bridal hair styles really does add a whole new dimension.
“Hair jewellery is usually associated with soft bohemian styles, which look fantastic but we wanted to show how versatile the chain is and create something sleeker, strong and polished. This is a great cocktail party look but can also be worn for bridal hair. We would recommend this style to either a classic minimalistic bride or perhaps a strong fashionista. It would be best suited to medium to thick hair, no shorter than collarbone length; the more hair the stronger the final result!” Easton Regal
“Classic hair styles will always inspire trends year after year because they are timeless and this year has been no exception. Flattering and complimentary to any lady and almost every wedding dress, this simple braided bun offers height, texture and intricacy without being too severe. This look can be left simple without any need for accessories or add a little sparkle with decorative hair pins” | Hayley King
Relaxed and Elegant
My all time favourite up do that I have created for a wedding is this bohemian plait I created for a bride back in 2013. I love the style as it was so different from a lot of other brides but also I can see the evolution of this style every single year. The flowers woven into the style gave it a relaxed finish.
This year Danielle from my Pro Team was asked to create what I see as the evolution of this style a much looser plait style which worked on the same principles as the sectioned ponytail which was finished with a beautiful hair vine. I love this loose and relaxed style which still looks formal and elegant. Tori Harris
Sleek & Chic
Nu Bride: I personally adore this chic bridal look. Classic with a dramatic look for natural hair brides. With side sleek and a lovely play on texture on top. The bejewelled hair accessory really finishes off the style. This brides style is so effortlessly chic!
Braids are still big in the bridal hair trend and well why wouldn’t they be? Braids add volume and texture to any style and will be the prefect look for those brides seeking a dishevelled boho inspired look. Long braids are great for brides with thick hair and can be a wonderful unstructured hair style to compliment embellished dresses. Hayley King
The Soft Sweep

“This soft sweeping up do has been one of the most popular bridal hairstyles seen throughout 2016. This look is ideal for brides who would like their hair up and out of the way but nothing too structured. The soft twisted sides effortlessly compliment any face shape with the ability for variation by moving the parting where best suited for the individual, the back is finished with intricately twisted curls for a soft and loose look”. “Low set chignons and buns have come back into fashion and are ideal for creating a timeless elegance for any bride and are suitable for every hair type. This look emphasises cheekbones and slender necklines and will give you a secure style to dance the night away! Complement the simplicity of this look with bridal gowns that are detailed and embellished. For minimal sleek gowns, add statement earrings or dramatic eye makeup for a stunning bridal wow factor. Cathedral long veils are great for this hair as the chignon gives an anchor point for your veils security”. Errol Douglas Salon.
Swoon ladies, swoon! Happy planning.
