With the party season gathering momentum, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to introduce you to the latest member of the Nu Bride family: Bands For Hire.
Say hello to Adam the founder to find out more.
Getting to know you
Bands for Hire is the UK’s fastest growing live music agency, offering only the most exciting function bands on the wedding scene. We’ve spent the past six years searching tirelessly around the country to bring you the absolute best of the bunch in every genre. From harpists, string quartets and swing bands, to rock ‘n’ roll, Motown and contemporary indie rock.
Where are you based?
We’re based in Stamford, a beautiful historic town in Lincolnshire.
When was your business founded and what was the inspiration in getting started?
I founded Bands for Hire in 2010. Having spent the best part of a decade touring and performing at functions across the UK, it was time for a new project combining both my musical and web design passions into one.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
One common mistake is to always judge a product by its price. As consumers we usually assume that price is always a direct representation of quality, but in reality, there may be many reasons that affect a quote. As an agency, we actively seek out high quality bands that charge a fee that truly affects their level of professionalism.
One Top Tip
Don’t leave anything until the last-minute!
When a band becomes extremely popular, they will undoubtedly start to fill up their diary a year in advance. If you are planning a last-minute wedding, consider a Friday or Sunday wedding; not only will it mean you’re not competing with peak days, your venue may be able to give you a better rate and you may find some wedding vendors will also offer a better deal if they’re keen to take on extra work.
