If you haven’t already guessed I have a thing for Italy, its beauty its charm and it’s style is mesmerizing.
So too is this incredible Amalfi Coast wedding of stylish Italian born Alessandro and Lebanese beauty, Lina. The photography by Gianni Di Natale in this wedding is absolutely breathtaking. There are so many ‘wow’ moments. From choice of the poetic and romantic town of Ravello, to the fashion choices, the black tie and chic white wedding theme, to the mood-lighting and the awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast, which still looks incredible in the middle of a storm. Effortlessly elegant.
Alessandro and I met in London in a club 2010, we were introduced by a mutual friend. We got married on the 30th May 2014 in Italy, on the Amalfi coast in a town called Ravello for the wonderful scenery (the deep blue sea, the mountains) and the beauty of the village. Ravello is a romantic and special poetic place. It is also still very authentic by its people and the food is delicious.
Our photographer, Gianni Di Natale and his team are very talented. They travel the world for weddings. He didn’t miss a thing at our wedding. His photos are very artistic; he did a beautiful album for us with a mix of colour and black and white photos.
We wanted our wedding day to be timelessly elegant and romantic. Our dress code was black tie and evening dress to match the refined charm of our surroundings and our symbolic wedding ceremony, perfectly captured our personalities and our relationship.
It was a dream day!
Being from two very different cultures – we are Lebanese and Italian – there were lots of cultural traditions, ideas and inspirations – as well as family traditions – we could include in our wedding celebrations. We were spoilt for choice!
Unlike other girls, I didn’t have a precise idea about what I wanted to wear for my wedding. I probably tried 200 dresses in Paris and London until making my mind! (Nu Bride: Oh my gosh!!) The dress I chose was designed by Olivier Freine who after hours of discussions drew the perfect dress for me.
I went for skyscraper heels of course! Who wants to look short in their wedding dress?! I found my shoes during a trip in New York at Stuart Weitzman. Of all the shoes I tried they were the most comfortable.
My wedding planner worked with an excellent hair and make-up artist. She took care of me during the entire wedding celebration. I had two different hairstyles for my big day.
Our wonderful florist put everything together for us. I had white lily flower for my bouquet.
My husband worn a tuxedo from Samson Costume . What made me swoon were his eyes and smile when I arrived down the aisle.
We instantly fell in love with the Villa Combrone, which we chose for our ceremony and reception.
The venue is located on the top of a hill overlooking the Amalfi Coast bay. We could not have dreamt of a better setting for our wedding.
I couldn’t hold my tears of joy and emotion when I saw Alessandro standing at the end of the aisle. I still remember this moment like it was yesterday.
We wanted everything to be white and elegant. Our wedding planner Jinane from Regency took care of everything for us. She put together various options for us to choose from. Her experience, taste and attention to detail made everything perfect.
Wedding favours – known in Alessandro’s home country of Italy as bomboniere – are a must for Italian weddings, so we knew we wanted to incorporate this tradition which has now become so popular all over the world, in our wedding. We decided upon the ideal gift and how we wanted our favour to look and a lovely local gift shop make our wishes a reality!
By far the funniest moment of our wedding day was during the evening as we and our guests partied away, dancing to Lebanese and Italian folk music – it was so much fun and everyone joined in! Lina even joined in with the musicians, by playing the tambourine!
Our band was fantastic. They managed to get everybody on their feet for the whole night!
